The Sabatini Fund (“we,” “our,” “us”) values your privacy. We are committed to protecting personal information collected from students who apply for funding. This Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data and describes your privacy rights under applicable U.S. laws.

This policy applies to individuals in the United States. At this time, we are only working with individuals located and residing in Colorado.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

We only collect the minimum necessary personal information needed to evaluate and process applications.

We do NOT collect or ask for:

  • Financial status or detailed income data

  • Citizenship or immigration status

  • Social Security numbers or national ID numbers

  • Sensitive personal background information

We may collect:

  • Name and contact information (email, mailing address, phone number)

  • School or program affiliation (if relevant to the application)

  • A description of the opportunity or need for funding

  • Any other personal information you voluntarily provide on the application

3. Purpose of Processing and Lawful Basis

We process your personal data only for legitimate nonprofit purposes, given our official status as a public charity as recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service under IRC section 501(c)(3):

  • To review and evaluate applications

  • To communicate with you about your application

  • To communicate with the adults in charge of your chosen extracurricular activity

  • To disburse financial awards if applicable

We do not rely on sensitive data for eligibility decisions.

4. How We Use and Share Your Information

We use your information solely for internal purposes related to:

  • Assessing eligibility for funding

  • Communicating with you and relevant adult advisors associated with you and your extracurricular activity regarding your application

We do NOT:

  • Share your data with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes

  • Sell, rent, or trade personal information

  • Share applicant information outside of The Sabatini Fund except with explicit consent

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to:

  • Protect against unauthorized access

  • Prevent loss, misuse, or alteration of data

  • Ensure secure storage

Data is stored only as long as needed to fulfill application and record-keeping obligations under applicable law.

6. Your Rights

In the U.S., you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. We will process requests consistent with applicable law.

We recognize that applying for funding can feel personal. If a question feels uncomfortable or irrelevant, you may:

  • Leave it blank

  • Contact us for clarification before submitting
